Meet Notary Public Owen Thomas Lowry

My name is Owen Thomas Lowry, a City of London-based Notary Public Lawyer, who represents both private and corporate clients.

My interests are walking, my family, economics, current affairs, politics, holidays, watching Formula 1 Motor Racing, cinema, theatre, opera and classical music.

I practise full-time as a Notary Public Lawyer and I am authorised and regulated by the Court of Faculties of the Archbishop of Canterbury, 1 The Sanctuary, Westminster, London SW1P 3JT, England.

I am a member of the Notaries Society of England and Wales and on a part-time basis teach the Law of International Trade to university students. I am a Freeman of the City of London Corporation, a member of the Ecclesiastical Society of England and Wales, a member of The Mysterie of Writers of The Court Letter of the City of London, and a member of the Board of Directors of private companies and charities.

I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History from the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada, a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of London and a Post - Graduate Diploma in Notarial Practice from the University of Cambridge.

As a Notary Public, I am duly admitted and sworn and authorised to practice in England and Wales.

Notaries are specifically authorised to carry out certain reserved activities under the Legal Services Act 2007 and can do any form of legal work, expect any contentious matter or take cases to court. The activities include wills, probate and administration of estates.

My client base is truly international, being in the financial services sector of The City of London.

As a Notary Public, my primary role is the preparation and authentication of legal documentation, usually used overseas or at various foreign consulates in England and Wales. As a Notary Public, I authenticate, under seal and signature, various documents executed in England and Wales. This is a function which is and has been from time immemorial well recognised by international law and custom among all countries. Notarised documents often form a vital part of International trade.
